Black Women in History Month Project....

This series seeks to reveal the often omitted, unknown and glossed over African American women and their coalitions who have shaped our American Democracy and History as intellectuals, political activist, suffragettes, education and labor reformers and more.  Their goals, ideas and coalitions will be revealed in their own words in chronological order to show how one sister to another passed the torch and lit the way for women, men and children both here and abroad.

Too often have black and brown women been omitted from the conversation and history of universal suffrage or their defining role in the development of American Democracy and direct political action tactics.  A framework that was built and heavily relied upon collective autonomy, mutual aid and improvement as well as crossing borders built up by a capitalist chattel slave labor society.
